Apache x Westside (v Keur) by Rousseau x Ratana V (ster pref) by Flemmingh
KWPN motherline 113, fokfamilie 708
The top Apache filly in the KWPN in 2011.
Gala was the champion foal at the 2011 Limburg KPWN show. She went forward to the National championships and finished 4th.
Gala is by Apache, sire of some of the top foals of the seasons with no less than 7 foals at the National foal show.
The KWPN Evaluation Committee described Apache as follows: “Apache is a very well developed stallion with an expressive face and highly noble looks. He has a nicely formed, long neck, a pleasingly slanted shoulder, three very good gaits, a ground covering walk in perfect rhythm, an energetic, elastic trot with strong thrust from his hind legs and plenty of freedom at the shoulder. His canter is energetic, powerful and nicely uphill with good balance. The stallion not only has very correct conformation but gives his rider a wonderful feeling and he’s always most willing to perform.”
Apache foals finished in 3rd, 4th, 7th, 9th and 10th – the most consistent positioning of ANY stallion in the KWPN.
He was the sire of the 2010 KWPN Champion Foal. The KWPN Evaluation Committee gave the following description in their report on his foals: “Apache‘s foal are convincing right down the line. Without exception, he passes on a riding horse type with a good, rectangular frame. Their freedom at the shoulder, the good angle of their hind legs, their excellent canter which covers a lot of ground and an energetic trot with spectacular hindquarter activity are the distinguishing traits.”
Apache’s sire, UB 40, a grandson of the renowned Jazz, was sold as a young sire to the US where he produced many highly successful youngsters. The dam, Tolanda, was an “elite pref” mare. She is a daughter of Krack C, who won international Grand Prix dressage under Anky van Grunsven/NED. The granddam, Olanda, was a “pref ster” mare. Inspekteur, who is found in the third generation, placed in the short tour.
Dam Westside is a super ster daughter of the top stallion Rousseau.
Rousseau was in the Championship Ring of the 2001 KWPN Stallion Show. He was then the top selling stallion/horse of the 2001 KWPN Select Sale. He earned an overall 8.5 for dressage at his stallion performance testing in Ermelo. Rousseau went on to win the PAVO Cup (the Dutch National Championships) as a four year old and won the KWPN Stallion Show as a 5-year old. Rousseau‘s international debut was an absolute success, when he won the Silver Medal of the FEI World Championships for Young Horses in 2003.
Rousseau stood as an active breeding stallion in the Netherlands for three years, covering over 1000 mares, before moving to Germany to breed for the Hanoverian, Oldenburg, and Westphalian breeding districts.
Ratana V is the half sister of the Grand Prix horse Vitana V ridden by Stephanie Peeters. Vitana V is now in turn the mother of the Oldenburg approved stallion Cennin (Vivaldi)
