A proven producer of champion horses out of a very highly graded and established maternal line, Tarava is the highest ranked Negro broodmare in the KWPN.
Tarava is by Negro – one of the most solid and prolific producers of dressage horses in the current sport horse world. The temperament and trainability is very high, coupled with excellent movement and conformation.
Tarava is a ster prok sport mare, having proven herself as both a breeder of horses, in the World Championship reserve Zarava, and as a sport mare having competed to ZZ-L (~PSG) level herself.
In addition, she was 4th in the KWPN national foal show in 2000.
Zarava (Scandic) is ranked 65th in the 2010/2011 KWPN mares list.
Her 2006 son Barrancas Rava (by Don Picardi) qualified for the finals of the VSN cup in 2010.
On the current list 2010-2011 of KWPN brood mares with horses in the sport she is ranked an incredible 36th with a dressage index of 175.
Maternal line from Nendyrava is the highest possible level of grading being elite (keur + PROK) pref prest sport(dr).
With no less than 2 daughters in the top 70 of all brood mares in the KWPN, she herself is ranked 13th with an index of 185 and competed to PSG level.
Sarava (Negro x Nendyrava) is the full sister to Tarava and is the mother of the World Championship for Young Horses finalist and approved stallion IPS Welt-All.
This most exciting purchase helps re-enforce our commitment to the Negro x Lord Leatherdale cross, whilst giving us the flexibility to introduce other blood – as the mare is a proven producer by other lines.
In September 2011, in recognition of the quality of this horse she was upgraded to Keur status by the KWPN grading committee.
Thus, as a result of her existing sport performance and the PROK certification she is immediately ELITE. One of only 20 Negro mares in the world to hold this honour.
